How do you get a square peg into a round hole?

Well the square peg is much smaller than the round hole so that it will go inside the space provided. How ever, when you do this there is a lot of empty space between the edge of the round hole and the square peg. The square peg only touches on the four corners of the square peg. The same will happen when you place a round peg into a square hole. The round peg is much smaller than the square hole so that it will fit inside the space provided. The round peg will only touch the sides of the square hole in four places. This means that not all the hole will be filled. When we allow a square peg to work in a round hole then the job cannot be done completely because the square peg just is not up to the task. They cannot fill all the needs. There is still space unfulfilled. We should make sure that what we do is put the right round peg into a round hole so that the hole is filled. When we ask for volunteers we are asking for trouble. People will volunteer for positions and they may be able to fulfil part of the position but there will be a significant part of what is required that they cannot fulfil. They are well meaning but this is not the correct way to fill positions.

(W.D.J.D.) What did Jesus do?

He selected 12 men who would be the ones who would build the Church. One failed to do the correct thing. But I am sure Jesus knew that from the start. Jesus had many followers but he only called the 12 to “come and follow Me” The eleven were round pegs for the round holes that had to be filled for the Church to be given birth and cause it to grow and mature. Jesus did not ask for volunteers and risk getting a square peg that would not have measured up to the task at hand. He selected, by the direction of the Holy Spirit, the men and then set about teaching them and equipping them for the task that was ahead. I am sure if you had asked any of the disciples if they were equipped to do the task of building the church from scratch they would have said “we cannot do this, we are not equipped.” Not learned enough. Not wise enough. But, when the time came and the Holy Spirit empower them, they turned the world upside down! They were the right people to do the right job! Do you have a position that needs filling? Do you want a volunteer or are you wanting the right person for the position? If you are a leader, who has God told you to place in that position? This requires a step of faith on your part to trust and to empower the person, you believe is the one God has chosen – the round peg for the round hole and the square peg for the square hole!
