I know that there are times when I do not trust God. You see I am so much like Peter who, by faith, stepped out of the boat when the Lord told him he could and started to walk on the water just like Jesus was doing. Everything was ok until Peter began to see what was around him. This is where he began to lean on his own understanding and straightway began to sink. I can remember stepping out in faith because God has told me to, but for some reason I take my eyes off the Lord and begin to look at my surrounding circumstances.
I do so want to submit to Him but my eyes keep wandering and I want to take control. You know all we have to do is trust, be completely submissive to Him and everything will be alright. Too often we think that we have reached the valley of the shadow of death and that is where we stop. But the Psalm says “I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.” We are walking through if only we continue to trust Him who has called us to do what we are doing. We keep walking and do not stop.
My path is straight when I am trusting the Lord. Even as I am walking through the valley of the shadow of death my path is straight.
As a well-known paint ad says, “keep on keeping on!”
Keep trusting only Him who has called you because he will see you through to the end.
