PSALM 121 1-8 (NIV)
“1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains — where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip — he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord watches over you — the Lord is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life; 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

The big question that many non Christian people ask themselves is “where does my help come from?” When problems come or they are faced with their mortality, they cry out and look for someone or something to help them. Many will cry out to God even though they do not follow Him or trust Him.
As a Christian who do you turn to for help? My help comes from the Lord. The one who Made the heaven and the earth. He is watching over me and will not let me slip over. He never sleeps. He is always watching. He protects you even from the rays of the sun and moon. He protects you from all harm. When something difficult happens, that is the time when we find out what we really believe. When the doctors tell you that you only have x months to live, how sure are you that the Lord is watching over you? “The Lord will keep you from all harm – He will watch over your life.” How do you respond in this situation? Is the Lord still looking after you, protecting you? Do you believe the Word of God and trust that God is in control and He only has the best for you? What is your life built on? What foundation, and how solid a foundation is it? My foundation is the Word of God! I believe what it says and trust fully on what it says about my Lord.
