I have known Richard and Sharyn Parker for some thirty years in varying capacities of religious and secular activity. The first knowledge of Richard and Sharyn was when they applied to the Far East Broadcasting Company a Christian Missionary organization. FEBC was a missionary radio organization broadcasting the gospel to China, The Soviet Union, India and countries through out South East Asia and the Pacific Region. Richard served as a missionary engineer on the transmitters and the studio equipment. Sharyn also served in a missionary capacity as a broadcaster into English speaking countries that received the English service of the broadcasts. This: as well as being a mother to their family. After completion of their service in the Philippines they returned home to Australia where Richard took up theological studies and pastoring ministries in country churches in Victoria. Since then Richard has been engaged in various Christian ministries. Richard and Sharyn have also shared in the setting of Christian values for their family to follow in. So often children of full time Christian workers seem to run off the rails but this family is an exception to that rule. Seeing their children grow and expand into Christian life has been an expression of the environment which Richard and Sharyn provided for the development of a Christian and Christ honouring family.
